Federal Contracting Partnerships
Why Partner With an SBA-Certified SDVOSB?
How SDVOSB teaming works, why companies partner, and how to explore opportunities with JERACO.
For manufacturers and product suppliers
Why Authorize JERACO to Offer Your Products?
You make the product. We pursue the opportunity. Some federal contracts are reserved for eligible service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses. If your company cannot bid as the prime, JERACO may be able to compete while offering your products. If we win and purchase from you, your company makes the sale.
“We already have someone.”
That’s great. You don’t have to replace an existing distributor or representative. Where your agreements allow, authorizing JERACO can add another route to government opportunities your current sales channels may not be pursuing.
What Does Authorization Involve?
Depending on the opportunity, it may be as simple as written permission for JERACO to quote or resell your products. We would agree on pricing and supply terms first. A relationship does not have to be exclusive.
Authorization is not a guarantee of an award or a purchase.
Why Partner With an SDVOSB?
Federal contracting can be difficult to approach alone. Companies may have strong products or specialized capabilities but need a contracting partner to pursue certain opportunities. An SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) can bring a different perspective to the pursuit.
Participate in More Opportunities
Some federal requirements are reserved for eligible SDVOSBs. An experienced manufacturer or service provider may be able to participate as an approved subcontractor, or through an eligible joint venture. Partnering by itself does not transfer SDVOSB eligibility.
Combine Complementary Capabilities
Strong teaming arrangements put each company to work where it performs best. JERACO brings practical business expertise and contracting coordination, while a partner may contribute specialized equipment, technical capabilities, or field experience.
Reduce the Burden of Pursuing Work
Federal proposals can require careful documentation, pricing coordination, and ongoing contract administration. Defined responsibilities can help each company focus on its contribution without losing sight of the customer’s requirements.
Build a Long-Term Working Relationship
The right relationship can extend beyond a single solicitation. We value dependable performance and open communication, with the goal of making future opportunities easier to evaluate and execute together.
How SDVOSB Teaming Works
There is no single partnership model for every federal requirement. The contract type, set-aside status, and proposed division of work determine which arrangements are appropriate.
Prime and Subcontractor
JERACO may pursue a contract as the prime contractor and team with a company that delivers an agreed portion of the work.
Pre-Bid Teaming
Companies can review an opportunity together, define responsibilities, develop pricing, and establish written expectations before a proposal is submitted. Early coordination helps avoid misunderstandings after award.
Joint Ventures
Some qualifying joint ventures can pursue small-business set-asides, including SDVOSB opportunities, when the SBA’s ownership, control, affiliation, and other requirements are met.
Supplier Relationships
Manufacturers and distributors can work with JERACO on government procurement opportunities involving equipment, products, or materials. The sourcing approach depends on specifications and applicable federal acquisition rules.
For official guidance, review the SBA Veteran Small Business Certification program and SBA joint venture rules. .
How to Explore an Opportunity With JERACO
- Introduce your company. Tell us what you manufacture or provide, where you operate, and which federal requirements interest you.
- Evaluate the fit. We’ll review the opportunity, available resources, scope of work, and any applicable certification requirements.
- Define the arrangement. If there’s a strong match, we’ll discuss pricing, responsibilities, delivery expectations, and appropriate written agreements.
- Execute with accountability. A successful team should understand what the customer expects and who is responsible for each commitment.
Common Questions About SDVOSB Partnerships
Does partnering with an SDVOSB give my company access to set-aside contracts?
It may create a way to participate on qualifying opportunities, such as through subcontracting or an eligible joint venture. It does not automatically allow an otherwise ineligible company to submit a prime bid for an SDVOSB set-aside.
Can a large company partner with JERACO?
Yes, large businesses may be potential teammates or suppliers depending on the solicitation and contracting structure. Eligibility and limitations vary for subcontracting, joint ventures, and mentor-protégé arrangements.
Does JERACO work outside Colorado?
Yes. JERACO is based in Colorado and pursues federal contracting and procurement opportunities nationwide, across U.S. territories, and overseas.
What types of companies can partner with JERACO?
We welcome conversations with manufacturers, distributors, and professional-service firms across many industries. A useful first step is sharing your capabilities and the type of work you’re interested in pursuing.
